Case Study: Redesigning The Law Offices of Christopher Chaney:

Chaney HomeChaney Home

The Law Offices of Christopher Chaney approached us with the goal of redesigning their website to enhance user experience, improve accessibility, and reflect their professionalism and expertise in criminal defense. The existing website suffered from an outdated design, slow page speed due to outdated technology, technical SEO issues, and an over-reliance on impersonal stock photography.

Challenges:

  • Outdated Design and Technology: The existing website failed to meet modern web design standards and suffered from technical limitations, resulting in slower page speed and technical SEO challenges.
  • Poor User Experience: Clearer calls-to-action and improved navigation were necessary to enhance user engagement.
  • Ineffective Content Organization: The cluttered content structure made it challenging for users to find relevant information.
  • Outdated Branding: The existing logo was outdated and cluttered, necessitating a shift towards a minimalist design to convey the brand's message effectively.

Objectives:

  1. Redesign the website with a modern and user-friendly interface.
  2. Improve website navigation and organization of content.
  3. Enhance mobile responsiveness for seamless accessibility across devices.
  4. Incorporate visually appealing elements such as animations and videos to showcase the firm's expertise and professionalism.
  5. Implement clear calls-to-action to encourage user engagement and conversions.
  6. Create a minimalistic logo that effectively communicates the core message or identity of the brand without unnecessary distractions.

A Closer Look at Design:

We determined that the new design should prioritize the firm itself, showcasing both Mr. Chaney and his team in imagery. This approach ensures that potential clients have a clear understanding of the individuals they'll be working with when contacting the firm. Instead of relying solely on static photos for his homepage and profile page, which can lack impact, we opted for greenscreen videos featuring Mr. Chaney. These videos injected much-needed dynamism into the design while also adding a personal touch. By including these videos, users can observe Mr. Chaney's mannerisms and facial expressions, further enhancing the connection with the firm.

We aimed to highlight the firm's Los Angeles location subtly, avoiding overly explicit imagery like a typical Los Angeles skyline. Instead, we employed creative motion and imagery to suggest the location indirectly. Using animated lines behind Mr. Chaney's figure, we evoked the impression of a city skyline. Additionally, abstract imagery resembling flickering city lights further reinforced the sense of place without relying on clichéd visuals.

A Closer Look at Branding:

Chaney's previous logo was cluttered and outdated. To align with his new website design and emphasize his brand effectively, we opted for a minimalist approach, eliminating unnecessary distractions. While retaining the essence of his original logo, which featured two "C's," we aimed for a more compelling and refined design. Below, you can compare Chaney's logo before and after the update to see the improvements.

Results:

By addressing the client's specific challenges and objectives, we successfully redesigned The Law Offices of Christopher Chaney to enhance user experience, improve accessibility, and showcase their expertise effectively. The modern design, improved navigation, and strategic content organization have contributed to increased user engagement, higher conversion rates, and overall client satisfaction.
